The government’s own medical experts have called coronavirus in immigration detention facilities a “tinderbox scenario.” Particularly as infection spreads throughout immigration detention centers, the medically vulnerable fear for their very lives. This litigation on behalf of immigrants detained in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) detention center in Alabama seeks their immediate release so that they can protect themselves.
NIPNLG filed this lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama along with the Adelante Alabama Worker Center, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and Jeremy Jong.
